Schmuckal Oil-sponsored event has raised more than $175,000 for patients, families
The Fifth Annual Chip in Fore Hospice charity golf tournament for Munson presented by LochenHealth Golf Club and Schmuckal Oil raised more than $116,000 for Munson Hospice at its Sept. 27 event.
Representatives of the golf club and oil company recently presented Munson Hospice with a check.
“This is the biggest Hospice fundraising event ever at Munson Healthcare,” said Desiree Worthington, president of Munson Healthcare Foundations. “We are so thankful for everyone’s efforts and generosity that have made this such a success.”
LochenHeath’s Barb Maitland, chairman of event, praised all those involved.
“To be able to continue to grow the donation from $70,000 total for the first three years to a donation of $102,000 in 2014 and more than $115,000 this year is a great tribute to the members of LochenHeath, and to Schmuckal Oil Company’s leadership, along with our generous sponsors,” she said.
Chip in Fore Hospice is the largest single fundraiser for Munson Hospice, a not-for-profit organization committed to compassionate care regardless of a patient’s or family’s ability to pay. Munson Hospice serves approximately 700 people per year and an additional 1,200 use its bereavement services.
