Side-line Support

As part of our commitment to the health of local athletes, our Munson Healthcare sports medicine team works with local school athletic programs to promote wellness, prevent sports injuries, and assist in recovery when injuries do occur. We also provide CPR and first aid certification to coaches.

Our certified athletic trainers and other sports medicine team members also provide sideline injury care during practices and sporting events. We are knowledgeable about the kinds of injuries athletes experience – and how to best treat them.

Preventing Sports Injuries

Prevention is one of the most effective remedies for sports injuries. Our sports medicine specialists educate patients on how to prepare for sports, play safely, and care for themselves after exercise or an athletic event.

We also promote the importance of wearing protective gear, such as helmets or goggles, visiting the doctor for a physical before engaging in a new sport or physical activity, and frequent hydration. Age, weight, and other environmental factors that may impact physical performance also are discussed.
