Munson Healthcare works with patients to help pay their medical bills. Our hospitals provide payment plans as needed and financial assistance for eligible patients.
Payment Plans
If you are unable to pay your balance in full, we can help you arrange a payment plan. (Some hospitals charge a monthly service fee of $4.95. Check with your local hospital.) If you want to set up automatic monthly credit card payments, our Patient Accounts office can help you make the necessary arrangements.

Munson Healthcare Financial Assistance Program provides eligible patients with partially or fully discounted emergent or medically necessary care. Patients who seek financial assistance must apply for the program. Please see details below.
Do I qualify for financial assistance?
You may be eligible for financial assistance if you meet the guidelines outlined in the Financial Assistance Policy. Eligible patients must submit a completed Financial Assistance Application, including all necessary documentation, such as verification of income, address, and assets.
Determination of Financial Assistance Eligibility
Generally, uninsured patients are eligible for financial assistance, based on their family income level as noted in the criteria below.
100 percent discount
Patients with family income of 200 percent or less of the Federal Poverty income level are eligible for a discount of 100 percent of gross charges.
75 percent discount
Patients with family income of 201 percent to 300 percent of the Federal Poverty income level are eligible for a discount of 75 percent of gross charges.
65 percent discount
Patients with family income of 301 percent to 400 percent of the Federal Poverty income level are eligible for a discount of 65 percent of gross charges.
Eligible patients will not be charged more for emergency or other medically necessary care than the amounts generally billed to insured patients.
Copies of the Plain Language Summary, the Financial Assistance Policy, the Credit and Collection Policy, and the Financial Assistance Application are available at no cost in English and Spanish on the Munson Healthcare website, at Registration, in Emergency Room areas, or at the locations listed below.
What services are eligible for financial assistance?
Financial assistance is available for:
- Emergency medical services provided by a Munson Healthcare provider.
- Services for a condition which, if not promptly treated, would harm the individual’s health.
- Non-elective services provided in life-threatening circumstances in a non-emergency setting.
- Medically necessary services, evaluated on a case-by-case basis at Munson Healthcare’s discretion.
