Leading the Way
The Munson Healthcare Board of Directors identified community health as a major priority in 1995 when it conducted its first multi-county community health needs assessment. That effort confirmed there were major unmet health needs in northern Michigan that should be addressed. The board established a Community Health Committee in 1998 to work on community health related goals. Going a step further, a regional Community and Population Health Committee was formed in 2017 to oversee, support, and measure the impact of system-wide initiatives designed to improve community health throughout northern Michigan.
