Kalkaska Memorial Health Center offers one-time service on site

Patients at Kalkaska Memorial Health Center can receive one-time prescriptions at the hospital’s new ambulatory pharmacy which opened earlier this month.

Pharmacy Manager Bruce Ahlich, RPh, said the service may provide prescriptions for registered hospital patients and patients of Kalkaska Medical Associates.

“We believe this provides a great convenience for patients,” he said. “We’re open in the area straight past registration, next to the piano.”

Under federal law, the pharmacy may only serve hospital patients registered for care or treatment the same day as their treatment. Diagnostic patients are not eligible. There are also over-the-counter items that patients may purchase on a one-time basis. The pharmacy also may provide prescription services to hospital employees.

Patient prescriptions are easily transferred to the community pharmacy of choice following the initial fill.

Pharmacy staff will be available to serve patients and hospital staff Monday through Saturday from 9 am - 7 pm.

Members of the pharmacy staff in addition to Ahlich include pharmacist Patricia “Tricia” Michutka, R.Ph., pharmacy tech Carri Hendry, and pharmacist Brett Somero, R.Ph.

The Ambulatory Pharmacy can be reached at 231-258-7790.
