Munson Medical Center recently received a 5-star ranking from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), placing it among the top 8 percent of hospitals in the nation.
The hospital was one of just 438 hospitals to achieve the highest ranking of more than 4,500 hospitals nationally measured by CMS. Only 21 hospitals in the state achieved the highest ranking, including Munson Healthcare Cadillac Hospital.

The CMS 5-Star rating is determined by 46 hospital quality measures, dividing them into five measure groups: Mortality, Safety of Care, Readmission, Patient Experience, and Timely and Effective Care.

In addition to the CMS recognition, U.S. News & World Report Best Hospitals rankings released today places Munson Medical Center as No. 7 in the state of Michigan for high-quality care. The publication reviewed 15 adult specialties and 21 procedures and conditions.
