West Shore Medical Center Moves Departments to Accommodate Growth
12.18.2015

West Shore Medical Center is moving some of its non-clinical departments out of the hospital’s main campus to meet the need for additional clinical space.

“As we continue to expand services at West Shore to meet the needs of the community, we need more room for patient care in and near the hospital,” said West Shore Medical Center CEO James Barker. “We are moving some vital but non-clinical departments off-site to accommodate that growth while we prepare a long-term facility plan.”

Effective Monday, December 21, West Shore’s cashier, billing department, and patient financial Services will be moving to 375 River St. in downtown Manistee (the PNC Bank building). “Customers needing only to complete a financial transaction such as paying a bill or requesting assistance with insurance can do that downtown and not have to come to the hospital,” said Barker. Business hours for these departments will remain 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, and the telephone numbers will not change. Patients may experience delays in service while the move is in progress.

West Shore Healthcare Foundation Executive Director Rachel Brooks will also be located in the PNC building, as will accounting, coding, and practice administration staff.

In addition, in response to its high volumes, the West Shore Walk-In Clinic is moving Monday, December 21 across US-31 to 1391 E. Parkdale Ave. in Manistee. Hours of operation will remain the same: 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday. West Shore’s new Occupational Medicine clinic will also be located at 1391 E. Parkdale Ave.
