Practicing in a Safe Learning Environment
“Patient experience is an aspect of the EVS role that is becoming more important and utilizing the Simulation Lab provides a safe environment for our employees to hone their interpersonal as well as technical skills,” explained Nancy Irish, Simulation Lab coordinator.
Erin Loomis, an EVS Tech II said she was thankful to be able to complete part of her training in the Sim Lab. “It’s a safe space to practice patient interaction and a great component of the EVS education program.”
EVS Tech II Brianna Balogh agreed. “The constructive criticisms and the positive encouragement to keep practicing really helped me to focus on my skills and work on things I can improve,” she said. “Overall, it was a very good learning and training experience.”
