Following your heart procedure, you can complete your cardiac rehabilitation at Charlevoix Hospital and have your follow-up visits with a cardiologist at the Charlevoix clinic.

We know how important it is to receive your care locally, especially if you are not feeling well. That's why our cardiologists come to you in Charlevoix. If your physician refers you for a consultation or cardiac evaluation, we can do a full diagnostic work-up right here so you don’t have to travel to Traverse City. And, you can continue with all of your follow-up care in Charlevoix.

Evaluation and Testing

Testing and diagnostics are critical to heart care. Our Charlevoix staff is skilled in providing a safe, comfortable experience during your evaluation. Your tests are sent digitally to specialists in radiology, cardiology and internal medicine. We can schedule and perform tests quickly, often within a few days of your provider's request.

Cardiac Rehab

Cardiac rehab can be lifesaving for many people. It can help to prevent future heart problems, cardiac events and related deaths. According to studies, people who go to cardiac rehab have up to 30 percent fewer fatal heart events. They also can lower their chance of a second heart attack or heart surgery. 

Our Cardiac Rehabilitation unit provides a safe, comfortable environment for you to begin an exercise program after a cardiac event or surgery. We will individualize and monitor your exercise therapy with daily heart rate/blood pressure checks, and heart rhythm monitoring or lifestyle adjustments. We will track and report your progress to your physician every step of the way. If anything abnormal arises, treatment is readily available, and we will contact your physician.
