Daisy Award at Cadillac Hospital

All nurses at Cadillac Hospital provide excellent care. Sometimes, you may feel your nurse has gone above and beyond his or her duties in caring for you. If you are inspired by your nurse’s care, you may honor him or her with The Daisy Award.

What is The DAISY Award?

The DAISY Award is a nationwide program that rewards and celebrates the extraordinary clinical skill and compassionate care given by nurses every day. Munson Healthcare Cadillac Hospital is proud to be a DAISY Award Hospital Partner, recognizing one of our nurses with this special honor every month. This award is given in memory of J. Patrick Barnes and was established by his family to honor extraordinary nurses.

The DAISY Award honors nurses who provide Cadillac Hospital patients with a remarkable experience. These nurses consistently demonstrate excellence through their clinical expertise and extraordinary compassionate care, and they are recognized as outstanding role models in our nursing community.

Each DAISY Award Honoree is recognized at a ceremony in her/his unit and receives:

  • A beautiful certificate
  • A DAISY Award pin
  • A hand-carved stone sculpture entitled “A Healer's Touch.”

Additionally, everyone in the unit will celebrate with Cinnabon® cinnamon rolls – a favorite of Patrick's during his illness. The Barnes Family asks that whenever and wherever nurses smell that wonderful cinnamon aroma, they stop for a moment and think about how special they are.
