Virtual Occupational Health and Medicine

Munson Healthcare is offering virtual occupational health services to employers throughout northern Michigan. Virtual care (sometimes called “telehealth”) allows our expert physicians to treat work injuries and on-the-job illnesses without employees leaving the workplace. Benefits include:

  • Immediate treatment – which may minimize lost productivity and maximize recovery outcomes
  • No drive time and/or time spent sitting in a waiting room
  • No extra costs or fees – visits are billed the same as in-person appointments
  • Coordinated follow-up in-person care if deemed necessary by the provider

Virtual care offered by Munson Healthcare Occupational Health & Medicine can triage incidents or concerns, evaluate new injuries and illnesses, and provide injury follow-up for conditions such as:

  • Mild to moderate upper and lower extremity strains, sprains
  • Minor neck and back strains, sprains
  • Abrasions, scrapes
  • Bruises, contusions
  • Minor burns
  • Skin irritation, dermatitis, rashes
  • Overuse injuries, tendonitis
  • Blood-borne pathogen exposures
  • Injury and illness

Munson Healthcare Occupational Health Virtual Visits should not be used to treat life-threatening conditions or as a substitute for emergency medical care. Please call the clinic at 231-935-8590 to determine the best location for treating conditions including:

  • Eye injuries
  • Foreign bodies
  • Lacerations and those injuries requiring physical exams or hands-on evaluation/treatment
  • Any injury resulting in symptoms for more than five days
