Former, current breast cancer patients invited for day of information, ‘pampering’ The 27th Annual Recovery Plus Program for women who have had breast cancer or are living with breast cancer is set for Oct. 17 from 8:30 a.m. - 2 p.m. at Grand Traverse Resort and Spa in Acme. Participants will enjoy a continental breakfast, special “pampering” session, and presentations by surgeon Ashley Sachtleben, D.O., on “Surgical Aspects of Breast Cancer,” and by psychiatric social worker Mary Raymer, LMSW, ACSW, DPNAP, on “Breast Cancer Essentials: What Every Woman Needs to Know.” There also will be a special lunch and fashion show. Cost for the day is $30 per person. Anyone willing to sponsor a woman who otherwise would not be able to attend is appreciated. Registration is due by Oct. 12.
