Former, current breast cancer patients invited for day of information, ‘pampering’
The 28th Annual Recovery Plus Program for women who have had breast cancer, or are living with breast cancer, is set for Saturday, Oct. 15 from 8:30 a.m. - 2 p.m. at Grand Traverse Resort and Spa in Acme.
Participants will enjoy a continental breakfast, special “pampering” session, and presentations by radiation oncologist David K. Heimburger, M.D., on “Recent Achievements in Breast Cancer Management” and by psychiatric social worker Mary Raymer, LMSW, ACSW, DPNAP, on “Thriving, Not Just Surviving: Emotional Recovery and Breast Cancer.” There also will be a special lunch and fashion show.
Cost for the day is $30 per person. Anyone willing to sponsor a woman who otherwise would not be able to attend is appreciated. Registration is due by Oct. 10.
