Former, current breast cancer patients invited for day of information, ‘pampering’
The 29th Annual Recovery Plus Program for women who have had breast cancer, or are living with breast cancer, is set for Saturday, Oct. 14 from 8:30 a.m. - 2 p.m. at the Traverse City Elks Club in Traverse City.
Participants will enjoy a continental breakfast, special “pampering” session, and presentations by radiologist Leah A. Carlson, M.D., on “Breast Imaging – Indications, Pros and Cons of 3D Tomosynthesis and Screening Breast MRI” and by psychiatric social worker Mary Raymer, LMSW, ACSW, DPNAP, on “Why it Really Should be All About You – Fighting Breast Cancer in Your Mind.”
There also will be a special lunch and fashion show.
Cost for the day is $30 per person. Anyone willing to sponsor a woman who otherwise would not be able to attend is appreciated. Registration is due by Oct. 11.
