06.12.2018

The 31st Annual Cancer Prevention and Survivors Picnic features a wellness fair from 2 - 4 p.m. on June 24 in the Cowell Family Cancer Center parking lot.

The general public is invited to come and celebrate with cancer survivors and learn how to reduce one’s risk of cancer. Information will be available on cancer-related topics such as rehabilitation services, nutrition, and lymphedema.

Participants can enjoy food from the Sprout Café, participate in gentle stretching and balance exercises used in the Journey Program, take a yoga class, learn about shiatsu therapy, and more. There also will be a children’s activity area and music.

Speakers during the afternoon will include Munson Medical Center oncologists and physicians, cancer center lead donor Casey Cowell, Less Cancer founder Bill Couzens, and Miles O’Brien, Emmy award-winning producer, journalist, and correspondent.

Northern Michigan cyclists participating in the Less Cancer fundraising ride will complete their journey from Flint to Traverse City by finishing at the picnic. For details and registration, visit LessCancer.org.
