Munson Healthcare Respiratory Protection Committee would like to remind the Healthcare Team to complete your annual N95 “re-fit” based on your most recent fit testing date. This complies with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) annual fit-testing requirements as well as promotes a safe environment for our employees and patients. It is highly encouraged to schedule your fit test in advance.

The following specialties are required to complete their annual re-fit:

  • Hospitalists
  • Emergency Department Providers
  • Pulmonary and Critical Care / Intensivists
  • Anesthesia
  • Inpatient Cardiology Providers prioritized by their upcoming patient care shifts
  • Surgical Specialists
    • Trauma Surgery
    • General Surgery
    • Otolaryngologists who are part of the Intubation Team
  • OB Providers
  • Neonatology
  • Infectious Disease
  • Palliative Medicine

Annual re-fit is also required of any provider not listed above that will be taking part in aerosol-generating patient care activities for a patient with a suspected or confirmed disease requiring Airborne Precautions. Please contact your Employee Health office with any questions about whether or not you should re-fit.

Annual N95 fit testing assignments have been moved to HealthStream, with assignments being sent monthly. If you have been previously fit tested and are due for renewal, you will be notified via HealthStream. For instructions to access HealthStream, click here.

The entire Healthcare Team should only use MHC-provided PPE when at work.
