The Grand Traverse Bay Area Stroke Club features information on advance care planning and completing advance directives at its meeting 2:30 - 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 10, at the Presbyterian Church in Traverse City.
The church is located at 701 Westminster in Traverse City.
Stephanie Van Slyke, MS-Bioethics, RN, HEC-C, Sr. Coordinator of Collaborative Care; Ethics Services, Munson Healthcare will discuss the various types of legal documents that enable you to remain in charge of your healthcare decisions should a stroke or other medical emergency leave you unable to make real-time medical care decisions for yourself. Van Slyke will talk about life-sustaining medical treatments, CPR, and Do Not Resuscitate (DNR) orders and answer questions from participants. New and former members of the stroke club are invited to attend.

The Grand Traverse Bay Area Stroke Club is open to the public and meets on the second Wednesday of each month. The group offers stroke survivors and support persons the opportunity to learn, share, and connect through speakers, demonstrations, and discussions.
