Betsie Hosick Health and Fitness Center is teaming up with Bike Benzie to help participants prepare for the annual cycling charity event that benefits local youth initiatives.

Bike Benzie’s Up North Fondo and Tour is Saturday, June 2, with four options for riders that range from a 30-mile flat course, to 45-mile and 62-mile hilly courses with lake views, and a 100-mile route that includes more than 5,000 feet of climbing.

Paul Oliver Memorial Hospital Community Outreach Manager Stephanie Williams, M.P.H, R.D.N., said the fitness center and hospital are pleased to collaborate with Bike Benzie to support the local youth programs as well as provide an opportunity for family friendly health and wellness.

"We’re focused on promoting healthy lifestyles that improve community health and we recognize that no one organization can do this work alone,” she said. “That's why Paul Oliver Memorial Hospital and the Betsie Hosick Health and Fitness Center are happy to partner with Bike Benzie. We want to contribute to a sense of community camaraderie and create a culture with fitness opportunities accessible to all local residents."

During March, Betsie Hosick Health and Fitness Center is offering three-month Bike Benzie memberships that will discount the price of the Bike Benzie registration from the fitness center’s normal fee. Starting April 1, fitness center members may also join a friendly competition for most miles with prize drawings for participants that include four free Bike Benzie registrations, a six-month membership to the fitness center, and fitness center swag.

All Bike Benzie cycling routes begin and end at Crystal Mountain. Registration opened in January and continues up to race day. For more information and to register, go to bikebenzie.org.
