Front lawn of historic Building 50 will be site for the June 7 event

The 28th Annual National Cancer Survivors’ Day celebration picnic will be held Sunday, June 7, on the spacious front lawn of historic Building 50 adjacent to 11th and Elmwood streets in Traverse City.

Anyone who has ever been diagnosed with cancer and their family is invited to join the festivities which begin at 1 p.m. and continue until 3 p.m. A light lunch, dessert, and soft drinks will be served.

More than 220 cancer survivors and their family members took part in the fun last year. Come and join in this annual celebration of life, laughter, and sharing. There will be mini-massages, manicures, music provided by music therapists, art therapy, and pet therapy. A special musical closing is planned.

While the picnic is free, registration is requested by May 22. For more information or to register, contact Pam Charlson at 231-935-6576 or pcharlson@mhc.net.

The picnic is sponsored by Munson Medical Center’s Cancer Services. For more information, please call Cancer Services at 231-935-5800.
