Jennifer Standfest Munson Healthcare Charlevoix Hospital President and CEO Joanne Schroeder today announced the appointment of Jennifer Standfest, M.S.N., R.N., NE-BC, as the new chief nursing officer at the facility.
Standfest joins the hospital from her most recent role as director of nursing practice and professional development at Munson Medical Center.

“I am excited to have Jennifer join the team at Charlevoix Hospital and working with our managers, lead our nursing staff and ancillary departments through the many challenges facing healthcare organizations today,” Schroeder said. “Jen’s proven leadership and expertise in elevating nursing practice and staff development will add an integral piece to our ongoing pathway to clinical nursing excellence.”

Standfest will replace former chief nursing officer Bernadette Cole, who retired in August.

A recipient of Munson Medical Center’s first Outstanding Leadership Award in 2014, Standfest joined Munson Healthcare in 2003 as a cardiothoracic critical care nurse. She also has served as clinical nurse educator for cardiothoracic units, magnet program director, and director of Munson Medical Center’s Women’s and Children’s Services.

Standfest received her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Calvin College in 2001 and a master’s degree in nursing from Grand Valley State University in 2006. She was a member of the Leadership Grand Traverse class of 2019 and was one of the Traverse City Business News 40 Under 40 leaders in 2011.

“I’m thrilled with the opportunity to become part of the amazing healthcare team in Charlevoix. The people and the facilities in Charlevoix are fantastic and similar to Munson Medical Center in Traverse City, and Charlevoix Hospital has been an integral part of that community for more than 100 years,” she said. “I’m excited to get to know the team and their work, to contribute my own knowledge and experience, and to work together to maintain a high quality, award-winning critical access hospital.”

Schroeder said Standfest will complete her current responsibilities at Munson Medical Center while a transition plan is finalized.
