Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) uses your smartphone during the login process to positively verify an authorized user. When an attacker steals a login and password, they may try to login repeatedly in an attempt to wear down the legitimate user into accepting the MFA prompt, which then lets the attacker into the IT system. This is known as “MFA Bombing” or “MFA Fatigue.”

If you receive an unauthorized MFA prompt, contact the Help Desk to report it immediately: 231-935-6053.
