Paul Oliver Memorial Hospital Rehabilitation Services brings care close to home
Overcoming surgery, injury, or coping with a chronic condition requires expert help.
Paul Oliver Memorial Hospital offers physical, occupational, speech, and certified hand therapy, as well as wound and lymphedema care close to home in locations across the region to help area residents on the road to recovery.
“Whether a person is recovering from a stroke, surgery, or even needs help getting back to their game following a sports injury, our staff has the expertise to help area residents achieve their goals,” said Rehab Coordinator Adrienne Stephen-Jones, PT, DPT, SCS. “We have several specialists on staff specially trained in specific expertise not always available at rural facilities.”
Therapy options include aquatic therapy, back exercises, fibromyalgia exercises, lymphedema therapy, orthopedic and neurological disorders, pain management, pediatric rehabilitation, physical therapy, sports injury recovery and much more. All Paul Oliver clinics have therapists trained in instrument-assisted soft tissue treatment.
Paul Oliver provides their patients with the highest quality of patient care, with many specialists on staff.
Stephen-Jones said the hospital recently sent therapists for training to help patients with Parkinson’s disease. LSVT BIG® is an evidence-based program with a goal of improving mobility and quality of life.
“The program is 16 sessions over four weeks and participants will learn exercises that they can perform at home. Those who participate in the program will find activities such as walking and getting out of a chair easier and safer,” she said. “We also offer a fee-for-service Parkinson’s Program in our Empire clinic so clients can continue with supervised exercise after their course of therapy has ended.”
In addition to Empire, Paul Oliver Memorial Hospital Rehabilitation Services boasts locations in Benzonia, Frankfort, and Interlochen.
