The generosity of northern Michigan residents continues to change lives and open possibilities for others in need.
As in past years, Munson Healthcare Foundations Chief Development Officer Des Worthington said Munson Healthcare hospitals are participating in #GivingTuesday on Tuesday, Nov.27, as a means to provide area residents an opportunity to make a difference in others’ lives during the holiday.
“This region is full of generous people with gracious hearts. We’ve witnessed that over and over again,” she said. “#GivingTuesday is about ordinary people coming together to accomplish extraordinary things and Munson Healthcare hospitals offer several different ways to give that promote quality health care and a positive patient experience.”
Since its founding in 2012, individuals and organizations in more than 150 countries have raised more than $300 million online.
This #GivingTuesday, Munson Healthcare Foundations will be sending an email to supporters and encouraging those who have not yet considered a gift to their local hospital or Munson Hospice to remember local health needs in the season of giving.
Munson Healthcare hospitals participating include Munson Healthcare Cadillac Hospital, Munson Healthcare Charlevoix Hospital, Munson Healthcare Grayling Hospital, Munson Healthcare Manistee Hospital, Munson Healthcare Otsego Memorial Hospital, Munson Healthcare Paul Oliver Hospital, and Munson Medical Center.
“We’re encouraging people to use the hashtag #GivingTuesday to talk about how important it is to support your local hospital,” Worthington said.
