Munson Healthcare Manistee Hospital Foundation invites the community to help “Paint the Town Pink” in honor of breast cancer awareness month. The 11th annual Paint the Town Pink event will be held Thursday, October 4 in downtown Manistee.
“Everyone is invited to gather starting at 4 pm at the west end of River Street, near the fountain,” said Paint the Town Pink Co-Chair Nancy Day. “Following a brief ceremony at 4:45 pm, participants will walk along the River Walk to honor those who have been affected by breast cancer.”
“There is no cost to participate,” said event Co-Chair Julie Raymond. “As always, proceeds from t-shirt sales and donations stay local to support women's health services at Munson Healthcare Manistee Hospital.”
Paint the Town Pink t-shirts are available for purchase in the Radiology Department at Manistee Hospital for $20 each. For a $20 donation, the public may recognize a loved one by having his or her name placed on a large pink bow that will be used to decorate downtown Manistee during Paint the Town Pink. More information and forms are available at munsonhealthcare.org/pttp. Names for bows are due by September 30.
“We are so very grateful for everyone’s support of this event over the years, in sunshine and in pouring rain,” said Gina Hodges, Diagnostic Imaging Manager at Manistee Hospital. “Proceeds from Paint the Town Pink truly make a difference to our patients, helping ensure the hospital is able to provide state-of-the art technology right here in Manistee.” Hodges is proud to be a part of the diagnostic imaging team at Munson Healthcare Manistee Hospital. “We have amazing technology, including digital breast tomosynthesis, a 3D technology that improves breast cancer detection.”
