June Stroke Club: Smart 9-1-1 Program

June Stroke Club: Smart 9-1-1 Program
06.04.2024

The Grand Traverse Bay Area Stroke Club features information on the Smart 9-1-1 program at its meeting 2:30 - 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 12, at the Presbyterian Church in Traverse City. The church is located at 701 Westminster Rd.

Central Dispatch will share information on the program including how to sign up. The program allows participants to submit information about themselves or their home so that if a call is made to 9-1-1 from the participants location, information such as disabilities, bedroom location, pets, and number of inhabitants is on file. The goal is to make it easier for responders to assist in a critical situation. The presenter will answer questions from attendees.

New and former members of the stroke club are invited to attend.

Melinda Hollands, L.M.S.W., with Munson Medical Center’s Patient Care Management Department, will facilitate the club meeting. For more information, please contact Hollands at 231-935-6380.

The Grand Traverse Bay Area Stroke Club is open to the public and meets on the second Wednesday of each month. There will not be a July meeting. The group offers stroke survivors and support persons the opportunity to learn, share, and connect through speakers, demonstrations, and discussions.
