Kalkaska Memorial Seeks Applicants for Advisory Council

Kalkaska Memorial Seeks Applicants for Advisory Council
09.29.2017
Kalkaska Memorial Health Center leadership is looking for help from the community to enhance how patients experience the hospital.

Administrator Kevin Rogols said the hospital seeks to establish an up to nine-member Family and Patient Advisory Council to help the hospital develop patient-centered solutions and educate the community about hospital operations, policies, procedures and quality improvement efforts.

“We anticipate these council members as area residents who can help educate us as a hospital about what is most important and on point for community residents and also potentially educate the community about hospital happenings, needs and maybe the ‘why’ behind certain hospital operations,” Rogols said.

Applicants need to be patients or family members of those who have received services or are receiving services at Kalkaska Memorial Health Center (outpatient, inpatient, assisted living, or long-term care). Council members should be able to:

  • Share insights and information about their own experience in ways that benefit others.
  • See beyond their personal experiences.
  • Speak comfortably in a group setting.
  • Work in partnership with others.
  • Listen well.

Interested residents are asked to submit a written application. An interview also will be part of the selection process.
