Munson Healthcare Supports Program with $5,000 Donation
Munson Healthcare and the Chill Out for Winter Safety Program is excited to announce a Kids Winter Safety Helmet Fitting & Giveaway. The event will take place on Saturday, February 1, from 11 am to 2 pm (or while supplies last) at Hickory Hills Ski Area, located at 2000 Randolph Street, Traverse City, inside the lodge.
The event will be a fun and educational day where families can learn essential tips to protect children from winter sports injuries. The Winter Chill Out Team will be on hand to provide valuable information and services, including:
- Meet & Greet with Beary Careful: Kids can meet Beary Careful, the Chill Out for Winter Safety mascot, and learn four key safety behaviors to follow before heading out for fun in the snow.
- Helmet Selection Guidance: Learn how to choose the right type of helmet for your child to ensure maximum protection.
- Free Helmet Fittings: Get a free fitting to make sure your child's helmet offers the best protection against head injuries.
- Free Children's Helmets: Courtesy of Munson Healthcare, free helmets will be available for children while supplies last.
Additionally, we are excited to introduce a new helmet loaner program at Mt. Holiday in Traverse City. The Chill Out for Winter Safety program, supported by Munson Healthcare, has donated 72 helmets available for loan free of charge for both children and adults. This initiative focuses on increasing helmet use on the tubing hill, which tends to have lower helmet usage compared to skiing.
