Prevent injury, infection and pollution by disposing of sharps properly. To facilitate safe disposal, Manistee Hospital is hosting a sharps disposal event at the Manistee Community Health Center at 1345 E. Parkdale Ave. on Wednesday, September 25. Sharps will be collected in the west vestibule (near Manistee Health and Fitness) from 2:30 – 4:30 pm.
Sharps, including needles, syringes, and lancets, will be accepted in the following types of containers:
- Medical sharps container
- Heavy-duty plastic laundry detergent jug with tight-fitting lid
- Metal or hard plastic coffee can with secure lid
This event is for individual sharps disposal only and is not intended for business waste disposal.
Expired or unwanted medications can be safely disposed of any time, 24 hours a day, in Manistee Hospital’s secure MedSafe disposal box, located in the lobby of the hospital at 1465 E. Parkdale Ave.
