Congratulations to the following MHC and MSU clinicians who had their research on “Pain Management After Cesarean Delivery Among Women with Opioid Use Disorder: Results from a Retrospective Pregnancy Cohort in a Rural Region of the Midwest” published in the April 2023 Women’s Health Reports:
- Julia Riddle, DO, MSc; Grand Traverse Women’s Health Clinic, MMC Obstetrics & Gynecology Department Chair, and MMC Substance Use Disorder Medical Director
- Julie Botsford, PharmD; MHC Pharmacy
- Samantha Dean, MS; MHC Clinical and Business Intelligence
- Carol Coffman, PharmD; MHC Pharmacy
- Chelsea Robinson, MS; Michigan State University Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics
- Jean Kerver, PhD; Michigan State University Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics
The study (cited below) provides empirical evidence supporting continued buprenorphine treatment for women with OUD throughout the perioperative period of a cesarean delivery in a rural setting, although replication with larger sample sizes would provide more confidence in the results.
