The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), released its ratings of hospitals’ quality on the Hospital Compare website and Munson Healthcare Cadillac Hospital was one of only ten hospitals in Michigan, out of 136 total, to receive a five-star rating.
“We are extremely proud of this achievement. It reflects the hard work that our staff and providers do every day to provide excellent healthcare in our community,” said Tonya Smith, president, Munson Healthcare Cadillac Hospital.
The CMS Hospital Compare rating system was established in 2015 to help consumers make sense of overall quality information when choosing a hospital. CMS uses publicly reported data to evaluate hospitals across seven areas including patient experience, timeliness and effective care, complications and death, unplanned hospital visits, use of medical imaging, and payment and value of care. The overall rating incorporates outcomes data and patient experience data to arrive at the overall hospital quality rating. Only about 7 percent of hospitals nationwide were rated as five-star hospitals.
“We are committed to providing our patients with exceptional outcomes and a great patient experience,” said Smith. “I am grateful to our entire staff for putting our patients at the center of all we do by providing safe, efficient and high quality care.”
