Munson Healthcare Manistee Hospital recently announced changes to their Walk-In Clinic services. Citing limited resources due to staffing shortages, the Walk-In Clinic will transition to a new same-day care model in mid-December. The new, by appointment only service will be housed at Manistee Primary Care on the second floor of the Manistee Medical Offices at 1293 E. Parkdale Avenue. Up to 80 same-day care appointments will be available daily, increasing access to care, eliminating overcrowded waiting rooms, and significantly reducing wait times for patients. The new service will begin on Thursday, December 15.
“Staffing shortages are impacting employers and services across the country and we are not immune from this trend,” said Kelly Tomaszewski, Interim CEO at Manistee Hospital. “It’s been a challenge for many months to maintain adequate and consistent operational hours in order to serve our patients. By collaborating with our primary care clinic, we can now offer five full days of same-day appointments with consistent hours of operation and better overall care for our patients. We are excited to launch this new service and believe our community will benefit greatly from expanded access.”
The same-day care service model has been implemented at other primary care clinics within the Munson Healthcare system with great success. Same-day care appointments are available Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm. Manistee Primary Care is located on the southwest side of the Manistee Hospital campus. Appointments are available to anyone in the community. To schedule a same-day appointment, please call the clinic at 231-398-1840.
