Munson Healthcare Chief Medical Officer Christine Nefcy, M.D., FAAP, recently announced appointments of two health system physician leaders to regional chief medical officer (CMO) roles.
Munson Healthcare Grayling Hospital Chief Medical Officer Aditya Neravetla, M.D., has accepted an expanded role as CMO for the health system’s East Region, which includes hospitals in Grayling, Charlevoix, and Gaylord. Munson Healthcare Manistee Hospital Chief Medical Officer Brian McComb, D.O., will become the CMO for the health system’s South Region, which includes Manistee, Cadillac, and Frankfort hospitals.
“As part of our continued growth and integration as a health system, the regional CMO role is designed to provide strategic support for high quality patient care including the metrics and processes involved in that care,” Dr. Nefcy said. “They also will promote consistency in patient access, safety, and experience as well as enhance communication among providers, community hospitals, and the healthcare system.”
Dr. Neravetla is a graduate of Kamineni Institute of Medical Sciences in Hyderabad, India. He completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at McLaren Regional Medical Center in Flint, Michigan and is board certified in Internal Medicine. In addition, he holds an executive master's in Healthcare Administration from Saginaw Valley State University and certified physician executive credentials from the American Association for Physician Leadership. Dr. Neravetla has been CMO at Grayling Hospital since 2019. He will transition from seeing patients as a hospitalist at Grayling Hospital into his new role in October.
Dr. McComb is a graduate of Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his Family Medicine residency at CMU Medical Partners in Saginaw, Michigan. He is board certified in Family Medicine and currently cares for patients on a part-time basis at Manistee Family Care. He has served as the CMO at Manistee Hospital since 2016 and will begin his full-time regional CMO duties in mid-August. His patients are being notified of his transition and the health system is actively recruiting for another provider at Manistee Family Care.
