Munson Healthcare today announced a $5,000 donation to the Cadillac Area YMCA’s Teen Impact program, an initiative that helps at-risk youth ages 13–15 prepare for real-world challenges through a mix of structured activities, mentorship, and positive peer engagement. The donation will fund program enhancements in partnership with Club Cadillac, further strengthening the YMCA’s commitment to supporting youth in the region.

“The Cadillac Area YMCA is deeply grateful for the generous support of Munson Healthcare for our Teen Impact program,” said Mike Kelso, Executive Director and CEO, Cadillac Area YMCA. “This partnership empowers local youth to overcome challenges, build essential life skills, and take confident steps toward a brighter, more positive future.”
The Y Teen Impact program is uniquely designed to meet the needs of local youth who may be navigating challenging circumstances. The program focuses on critical life skills, including stress management, teamwork, conflict resolution, and building healthy relationships. Teens meet twice weekly at the YMCA, where they participate in small group discussions, hear from guest speakers, engage in experiential learning, and benefit from one-on-one mentorship.
“The Cadillac Area YMCA is a vital wellness-based cornerstone in our community, offering robust programming for all ages and making a particularly positive impact on our youth,” said Peter Marinoff, Community President of Cadillac Hospital and Munson’s South Region President. “This donation reflects our commitment to reinvesting in the communities we serve by supporting meaningful initiatives like Teen Impact and helping to ensure a healthier future for the entire region.”
The Cadillac Area YMCA has been a community fixture for over 20 years, offering more than 50 year-round programs including senior fitness, aquatics, childcare, day camps, sports leagues, and teen programming. Among its youth offerings is the Teen Center, open to students in grades 6–12 for homework support, socializing, and supervised games and activities. In 2024 alone, the Teen Center recorded 8,473 check-ins, underscoring its importance as a safe, welcoming space for teens in the community.
Munson Healthcare’s contribution highlights its commitment to supporting the local community and promoting the health and wellness of our youth. To learn more about the Cadillac YMCA and their programming, visit cadillacareaymca.org.
