Facilitators help participants understand, explore the grieving process
Losing a loved one brings many changes and challenges.
Those left behind can find it hard to understand the often complex and painful thoughts, and feelings that accompany a loss.
Munson Hospice offers a free eight-session program in four locations around northern Michigan to help participants in their journey through grief. Compassionate facilitators will help participants explore and understand 10 touchstones that are essential physical, emotional, cognitive, social, and spiritual actions to help in the healing process.
In addition to trained bereavement facilitators, Munson Hospice also recently welcomed licensed professional counselor Kjirsten Boeve, M.A., LPC, to its team. She offers individual counseling for needs related to death, dying, and bereavement.
Sessions will be held in Frankfort, Grayling, Roscommon and Traverse City at the following times and locations:
• Frankfort – Fridays from 11 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Oct. 14 through Dec. 9 in Paul Oliver Memorial Hospital’s second-floor conference room. The hospital is located at 224 Park Ave. in Frankfort.
• Grayling – Wednesdays from 2:30 - 4 p.m. through Nov. 23 at Munson Home Health, 324 Meadows Drive.
• Roscommon – Thursdays from 5:15 - 6:45 p.m. Oct. 13 through Dec. 8 at the Roscommon Library, 106 Lake St.
