Munson Medical Center in Traverse City was recently named to The Women’s Choice Award for Best Hospitals™ list in the following categories:

- Best Hospitals for Cancer Care
- Best Hospitals for Comprehensive Breast Care
- Best Hospitals for Mammogram Imaging
- Best Hospitals for Women’s Services
Munson Medical Center’s Family Birth Center houses a 19-bed Maternity Unit, and a 22-bed Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), the only one north of Grand Rapids.
With healthcare award categories spanning multiple service lines, the Women’s Choice Award for Best Hospitals™ is a credential based on robust criteria that includes relevant clinical performance, patient satisfaction and accreditations.

Award winners are determined by using publicly available information from The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), as well as accreditation information from appropriate sources. Measures in each of those areas are further weighted based on thousands of surveys from women expressing which factors of care are most important to them.
Munson Healthcare Charlevoix Hospital was also named a best hospital for obstetrics. In addition, Munson Healthcare Otsego Memorial Hospital was named Best Hospitals for Emergency Care and Best Hospitals Minimally Invasive Surgery.
