05.09.2017

Gaylord, Mich. — Otsego Memorial Hospital (OMH) is happy to announce the awarding of full tuition scholarships to four current OMH employees to attend the Medical Assistant Program through Kirtland Community College. Through a competitive scholarship application process, current employees interested in advancing their medical careers applied to participate in the newly redesigned Medical Assistant Program at Kirtland Community College. This year-long program prepares students to work within the medical office setting, assisting providers and staff in caring for patients.

“This is a win-win for OMH. Through this program, we are able to invest in our employees and their education, while simultaneously working to address shortages in key areas within the hospital, such as medical assistants.” said Tom Lemon, OMH CEO.

The OMH employees who received the scholarship are:

  • Paige Harrington, Physician Services
  • Krista Madden, Physician Services, Indian River
  • Matthew Mielock, Physician Services
  • Victoria Dort, Environmental Services
