Indian River, Mich. — Dr. Jennifer Atkins, Pediatrician with the OMH Medical Group – Indian River, is hosting a Pediatric Health & Safety Night. The event will be open-house style from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Attendees will have the opportunity to come to the clinic to meet Dr. Atkins, the newest pediatrician with OMH.
Dr. Atkins and a variety of other guest speakers will be on hand to share important information on health and safety for children, ranging in age from newborns to adolescents. Topics covered will include helmet safety and fittings with Dr. Atkins, car seat safety with Trooper Mark Tamlyn, healthy eating choices with OMH Community Health Education Coordinator Cindy Goddard, RN, substance abuse prevention with Cheboygan County Prosecutor Daryl Vizina, safe sleep for infants with Janemarie Weick of the Health Department, and sports injury and prevention with OMH Rehab Director and Occupational Therapist Chris Hope.
This event is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be provided, and attendees will have the chance to win a special giveaway.
