Kalkaska Memorial Health Center’s Rural Health Clinic now offers a full-time pediatrician on staff.

Cynthia Smith, M.D., FAAP, has been practicing for more than 20 years. She will now practice full time at Kalkaska Medical Associates. As a pediatrician, she provides general pediatric care to children of all ages, including adolescents, and patients with attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder and other behavioral health issues.

“We’re excited to have Dr. Smith available for the young people of the region who are part of our Rural Health Clinic,” said Kevin Rogols, administrator of the hospital. “She brings strong medical skills and allows more families to stay close to home for pediatric care.”

An open house reception for Dr. Smith is planned for Thursday, Feb. 1, from 4 - 6 p.m. at the Dr. William W. Kitti Education Center on the hospital’s campus.

Dr. Smith received her medical degree from the University of Michigan and completed her pediatric residency program at the university’s C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital. She is married with two adult daughters and a college-age son. She enjoys the outdoors and seasonal activities that northern Michigan offers.

Kalkaska Memorial Health Center is located at 419 S. Coral St. in Kalkaska.
