Munson Healthcare Paul Oliver Memorial Hospital today announced that they have pulled the Betsie Hosick Health and Fitness Center off the market and will continue operating the community fitness center.
From the outset, Munson Healthcare stated a desire to secure a strategic partner that would lead fitness programming and services. After nearly a year’s search, a suitable partner was not identified. Instead, Munson Healthcare will continue to operate the fitness center and is seeking the support of the community in this endeavor.
“We’re looking forward to rolling up our sleeves with you to stabilize and support this important community resource,” said Peter Marinoff, President of the Munson Health South Region. “Improving lives is the goal in all that we do, and we are confident that we have a good plan in place and look forward to engaging with our members and the Benzie County community to re-envision and maintain the fitness center.”
Over the next few months, Munson Healthcare said it will work to understand needs and gaps, stabilize services and programming, and then explore possible expansion or additional services.
The fitness center will soon embark on a membership drive to secure the additional members needed to support the activities and programs offered now and in the future.
