Stroke Club Hosts: ‘Ask a Physiatrist’

Grand Traverse Bay Area Stroke Club Meets Wednesday, Oct. 14

The Grand Traverse Bay Area Stroke Club will sponsor “Ask a Physiatrist” with Marshall Poole, D.O., from 2:30 - 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 14.

The stroke club meets at The Presbyterian Church, 701 Westminster Road, in Traverse City.

Dr. Poole is a physiatrist with Munson Medical Center’s Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Program. As a physiatrist, he specializes in evaluating and treating patients with physical or cognitive impairments and disabilities resulting from musculoskeletal conditions, neurological conditions, and medical conditions.

He has expertise in therapeutic exercise, medications, injections for pain management, prostheses, braces, and other equipment to assist daily activities and coordinate treatment to help patients improve their physical, psychological, social, and vocational function.

Members of the Grayling Stroke Club will join the session.

The Grand Traverse Bay Area Stroke Club is open to the public and meets the second Wednesday of each month. The stroke club offers stroke survivors and support persons the opportunity to learn, share, and connect with one another through speakers, demonstrations, and group discussions.
