Vaccination Clinics, COVID-19 Vaccine Boosters, and Exemptions

  • COVID-19 1st dose and booster vaccination clinics (Pfizer)
  • An optional Pfizer booster is available for those who have received their 2nd dose of the Pfizer vaccine >6 months ago. At this time, there is no clinical indication or CDC approval for a booster for either the Moderna or Johnson & Johnson/Janssen vaccines.
  • If you are medically or religiously unable to receive the COVID-19 vaccine and need to request a medical or non-medical exemption, you must submit the proper form and any supporting documentation by November 15, 2021.
  • The approved medical exemptions at this time for the COVID-19 vaccine are:
    • Prior severe anaphylactic reaction to the COVID-19 vaccine or its ingredients
    • Receipt of monoclonal antibody treatment in the last 90 days
    • Pregnancy
    • Risk of serious adverse effect due to a serious medical condition
    • Previous COVID-19 infection
  • Healthcare Team who choose to receive their vaccine at a non-MHC location, should keep a copy and send completed paperwork to their local Employee Health office.

Visitation Policy Change for Critical Care Patients with COVID-19 | Effective 10.5.21

The 2-hour visitation time limit applies to COVID-19 critical-care patients only.

MHC Visitation Policy

Hospital Optimization Project (HOP) Support for Providers

  • MHC is returning to normal support processes for Cerner PowerChart and FirstNet.
  • Over 200 enhancement requests have been received since the HOP go-live, which are being reviewed for appropriateness based on Cerner recommendations and overall EHR standardization goals. This process can take up to 60 days to complete. Once the review is complete, all approved requests will be prioritized and resourced.

Non-Job-Related Uses of EHR Prohibited

  • MHC prohibits non-job-related use of its electronic health records (EHRs), and upcoming policy changes include possible corrective action for EHR use that is not job-related will go into effect on 11.1.21.
  • Healthcare Team members may not access MHC EHR systems for medical information about themselves or family/friends.
  • E-authorizations for others will no longer be allowed per the updated policy.
