The American Osteopathic Association recently awarded board certification in Family Medicine and Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment to West Shore Medical Center physician Rachel VandenBerg, DO. 

Dr. VandenBerg attended medical school at AT Still University, Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in Kirksville, Missouri, and completed her residency at Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville. She joined West Shore's medical staff in 2015.

Dr. VandenBerg practices at West Shore Medical Center Primary Care, located at 1400 E. Parkdale Ave. in Manistee. 

Board certification involves rigorous testing and evaluation that demonstrates a physician's commitment to her specialty, education, and quality care. 

The American Osteopathic Association is the primary certifying body for osteopathic physicians, is the accrediting agency for all osteopathic medical schools, and also works to promote public health and encourage scientific research.
