Emergency Department

If you have an emergency, call 9-1-1. EMS crews are based in Boyne City, Charlevoix, East Jordan, and on Beaver Island.

Emergency Care - You should go to the Emergency Department if you have a serious injury or illness. Our state-of-the-art Emergency Department is fully staffed at all times. The department is equipped with sophisticated diagnostic technology to help quickly pinpoint the nature of your emergency. Experienced physicians within the department are assisted by on-call specialists in orthopedics, surgery, cardiology, and neurology.  

IMPORTANT:  If you require any of the following procedures, your care is automatically classified as EMERGENT: IV infusion of fluids, any fracture, surgical consult, ultrasound, CT or MRI, or if you are brought to the hospital by ambulance.

Trauma Care - Trauma services are enhanced by a nearby airport for rapid transport in case transfer to another facility is needed. In all of your emergency and trauma care, you will experience the personal touch and the attentive, tender care you've come to expect from Munson Healthcare Charlevoix Hospital – your hometown hospital. You will be treated as a guest because we want your experience to be as pleasant as possible while you receive timely, high quality care.
