Urgent Care

If you have an emergency, call 9-1-1. EMS crews are available in Boyne City, Charlevoix, East Jordan, and on Beaver Island.

Urgent Care

When you need non-emergency care on weekends, holidays and after hours, visit our Urgent Care Center. Services are available for minor injuries and mild illnesses, such as sore throats, colds, fever and flu, rashes, bumps and bruises, bee stings, and other ailments. No appointment is needed. Lab, imaging, technical support, and emergency services are on site. We're open from 10:00am to 8:00pm seven days a week.

When to Use Urgent Care

Urgent care treatment is best for these types of injuries:

  • Head: no loss of consciousness, cuts less than one inch

  • Ears: earaches, infection, foreign object, severe dizziness or drainage

  • Eyes: scrapes, bruises, infections or a sty, objects in the eye, swelling around the eye

  • Nose: infection

  • Throat: sore throat

  • Chest: cough with or without fever, moderate asthma

  • Abdomen: persistent nausea and/or vomiting

  • Genital/Urinary: frequent trips to the bathroom, burning/pain with urination, vaginal/penis discharge, bleeding or discomfort with intercourse

  • Back: Minor strains or backache

  • Limbs/Skin: sprains without deformity, shallow or short cuts, stitch removal, puncture wounds to hands or feet, minor scrapes or burns, rash, insect or animal bites

Why Choose Urgent Care?

Choose Urgent Care instead of the Emergency Department for the listed conditions to avoid delays and potentially higher costs.

  • Wait times in the Emergency Department may be longer as the most serious injuries/cases are seen first
  • Co-pays are often more expensive in the Emergency Department than at Urgent Care
  • Your health plan may not pay for care in the Emergency Department if it is not a true emergency

Charges in our Emergency Department and Urgent Care Departments are determined by the actual care you or your loved one receive. Your care is never dependent upon your ability to pay or the type of insurance coverage you may have. Charges are subject to review by the doctor, medical records department and your and insurance company.

IMPORTANT: If you require any of the following procedures, your care is automatically classified as EMERGENT: IV infusion of fluids, any fracture, surgical consult, ultrasound, CT or MRI, or if you are brought to the hospital by ambulance.
