Tobacco Treatment Specialists support adults throughout their journey to quit tobacco, chew or vaping. They develop personalized treatment plans and work with health care providers to ensure you are get the medical support to help you quit.

Quit Smoking Programs

American Lung Association - Freedom From Smoking Program

When offered: three times per year (winter, spring, fall)

How long: eight weeks

American Lung Association - Freedom From Smoking Plus Online Program

Includes: 12 months or unlimited access to the Freedom From Smoking online program, available 24/7 on your computer, tablet or smartphone. Live telephone and chat support from the quit smoking specialist at Lung Helpline. Nine highly interactive sessions to prepare you for your QUIT DAY and help you stay smoke free for good. Certificate of completion. Quitting may help lower your health insurance costs (ask your employer/insurance provider)

Michigan Tobacco Quitline 1.800.QUIT.NOW (784-8669)

Cost: free

Information, tobacco treatment referral, phone counseling, online program, text messaging 24 hours a day, seven days a week. 1-800-784-8669 (English) or 1 855-335-35-3569 (Spanish). Free nicotine replacement therapy (patch, gum or lozenges) available to select callers.

Smoking Cessation & Reduction in Pregnancy-SCRIPT Program

Cost: free if enrolled in the Health Department’s Maternal-Infant Health Program
