Core Services at Grayling Hospital

Healthcare has never been simple, but the COVID-19 pandemic has driven us to go beyond what we ever thought was possible and has pushed Munson Healthcare to remodel the way we provide care for patients, while keeping staff protected in their new work environments. Grayling Hospital has played a critical role to minimize the potential for transmissions of the illness and to best conserve critical resources. Through the use of the Intensive Care Unit, symptomatic patients are able to receive care isolated from other areas of the hospital—protecting asymptomatic patients and medical personnel.

Although it is uncertain what the future may bring, we know by maintaining and strengthening core services at Grayling Hospital, we are securing healthcare for future generations to come. In addition to core services, donations in 2020 and 2021 will be utilized for additional safety, diagnostic, and testing equipment and a new ventilator. Our primary focus is, and will always be, your health, safety, and wellbeing.

Emergency Services

Within the last year alone, Grayling Hospital administered emergency care for life-threatening illnesses and injuries with over 19,000 visits to the Emergency Department. As the entry point for a hospital’s response to many types of crisis scenarios, emergency departments must be designed with the flexibility to respond to a wide variety of interminable ailments, including pandemic scenarios. Together, we are committed to taking the necessary steps to ensure our Emergency Department remains strong for generations to come.

Surgical Services

No area of the hospital is subject to as much rapid growth and advancement in medical technology. The progressive expansion of surgical methods and equipment keeps surgical care and recovery local while improving patient experience. Using advanced, leading edge diagnostic and surgical technology, patients are provided with minimally invasive procedures, faster recovery, less pain and blood loss, and a lower chance of infection. To keep pace with the latest advancements, Grayling Hospital must regularly update and replace critical technology and equipment to keep surgical procedures local, while expanding the range of procedures available.

Long-term Care at the Crawford Continuing Care Center

From the moment you walk in the door at Crawford Continuing Care Center, you'll notice the caring individuals and smiling faces - and, you may even recognize a familiar face of a friend or neighbor. The Crawford Continuing Care Center is a 39-bed, long-term care facility that also offers short-term rehabilitation and long-term skilled nursing care. Of the 39 beds, about 15 are used for short-term rehab, while the rest are used by residents who call the Center their home.

Caring for a loved one with serious medical conditions at home can be rewarding, but it can also be exhausting—both physically and emotionally—for family members and primary caregivers. Munson Healthcare’s long-term care fulfills the physical, emotional, and social needs of our residents, and provides compassionate care with day to day needs. Since our long-term care facility is located on our hospital’s campus, residents have access to clinical providers and emergency medical care around-the-clock. In addition to medical care, we provide a full range of services to help you or your loved one with activities of daily living such as dressing, bathing, eating, and more. Our compassionate staff help residents cultivate independence and maintain physical, emotional, and mental well-being.

The total cost for these critical innovations at Grayling Hospital is $150,000.
