Jordyn Emery, DO

jordyn emery

Dr. Emery is a lifelong Michigander originally from Midland. She received her B.S. from Central Michigan University where she majored in biomedical sciences and minored in psychology. She then went on to pursue her lifelong dream of becoming a physician, attending Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. Her interests include women's health, lifestyle medicine, and addiction medicine. In her free time, she enjoys cooking and baking with her sous chef and husband, Cole, exploring Northern Michigan, and home movie nights.

 

Ron Goans, DO

ronald goans

Dr. Goans was born in Waldorf, MD but was raised primarily in Clinton, TN. He attended the University of Tennessee at Knoxville, where he earned a master’s in nuclear physics. He received his medical degree from the Lincoln Memorial University DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine (LMU-DCOM). He then completed a Transitional Year at LewisGale Medical Center in Salem, VA. He and his wife are excited to begin their next adventure in Traverse City. In his free time, he enjoys woodworking, gardening with his wife, reading, and playing games (computer and tabletop). Their dogs are also looking forward to exploring northern Michigan.

 

Charlie Hornbogen, MD

Dr. Hornbogen grew up in Traverse City, MI. He attended Lawrence University in Wisconsin where he earned his B.A. in Biology with a Music minor. He attended medical school at Michigan State University College of Human Medicine and was part of the Leadership in Rural Medicine Traverse City campus. He and his wife Sarah are very excited to be staying in Traverse City for his residency. In his free time he enjoys downhill skiing, boating, camping, and playing bass guitar.

 

Emma Kwapis, DO

Dr. Kwapis was born and raised in Holly, MI. She attended Michigan State University earning her B.S. in human biology, an additional major in psychology, and a minor in bioethics. She continued her education at Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine where she found her passion for Family Medicine and Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine. She is excited to move to Traverse City with her husband, Tyler, and their cat, Timber. In her free time, she loves downhill skiing, swimming, weight lifting, baking, and reading.

 

Emily Reitzel, MD

Dr. Reitzel was born and raised in Bay City, MI. She attended Central Michigan University where she was a member of the Chippewa Marching Band and obtained her B.S. in Biomedical Science. She worked as a medical scribe in Saginaw for two years before going to Central Michigan University College of Medicine to complete her medical education. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, camping, listening to Taylor Swift, and exploring walking trails. She is excited to move to Northern MI and is looking forward to serving Traverse City and the surrounding communities.

 

Zach Short, DO

Dr. Short was born and raised in Archbold, OH and graduated high school in Brighton, MI. He comes from a farming family who primarily grow corn and soybeans. He attended Michigan State University for his undergraduate, where he majored in Biomedical Laboratory Science, and Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine for medical school. In his free time, Dr. Short enjoys running, cross-country skiing, hiking with his dog, and watching Spartan football and basketball.
